Artist and disability justice organizer Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarasinha writes:

โ€What does it mean to shift our ideas of access and care (whether itโ€™s disability, childcare, economic access, or many more) from an individual chore, an unfortunate cost of having an unfortunate body, to a collective responsibility thatโ€™s maybe even deeply joyful?โ€

In BARTALKโ€™s second podcast mini-series, we explore care from the perspective of three artists and 1 mutual aid collective.

We investigate what makes a care practice sustainable, what types of care go unnoticed, how care theories are translated into realistic practices, and the difference between care and charity.

Is genuine interspecies care possible? How do you establish sustainable networks of care? And finally, where can you find intersections of care and joy?
